Blue Shield provides two dental health plan options for their members. Both plans may be combined with vision insurance plans. The PPO plan allows members to select their own dental care provider, while the HMO plan has a network of dentists to choose from with specialists available by referral from your dentist. Coverage for services is immediate, except for orthodontic coverage. Orthodontic coverage, including braces, Invisalign and the Six Month Smiles treatment option, requires a one year waiting period after starting coverage to receive these benefits. While the PPO plan option is more flexible, the HMO plan is more economical. The Yuba City Dentistry Group accepts both plans.
